Scholar Projects

Scholar projects are more than just classes—they are immersive, project-based learning experiences designed to inspire a lifelong love of learning. Through reading, writing, discussion, simulation, lecture, and colloquium, scholars engage deeply with ideas, people, and history. These projects are not just about studying a topic but about developing the skills, character, and vision necessary for a meaningful and purpose-driven life.

Mentors leading scholar projects invite scholars to take ownership of their education—discovering their unique missions, developing their gifts, and refining their ability to think critically and act with integrity and purpose. True learning is a choice, and as scholars willingly engage in their studies and submit to mentorship, they follow in the footsteps of great leaders throughout history.

We encourage scholars to seek truth, beauty, and goodness—to cultivate wisdom and virtue as they nourish both mind and heart throughout their lifelong educational journey.

Kindred Scholar Projects

Georgics uncovers the power of being reconnected to the earth and learning principles of community and self-reliance. Scholars read several classics that take place in an agrarian setting so they see the value and growth that comes from hard work.

Key of Liberty is a two semester program which studies the American Revolutionary War period, the United States Constitution, and other founding documents.

Scholars will study Shakespeare, the master of human nature. Shakespeare Conquest creates the most engaging experience so his works come to life.

These studies of the Civil War and World War II will give your scholar an understanding of the complexity of the times as the US was drawn into a war and an astounding number of conflicts and crises.

Scholars will study the subject of truth, logic, habits of a scientist, math, and how to use these topics to find the truth.  This project delves into the sciences of Logic, Reasoning, Mathematics, and Geometry.

This is an opportunity for scholars to dive deep into the philosophies behind theater while studying classic plays: a French farce, Greek tragedy, Shakespeare, and a modern work. Scholars will analyze language, develop characters, and creating a process drama.

Scholars will learn about self governance and governing a nation. Scholars will learn about the landmark cases of the Supreme Court, then choosing two cases to write legal briefs and argue before a moot court.

An in-depth and personalized study of leadership. Scholars come face-to-face with 6 great leaders and their landmark speeches. They read about, write about, and discuss the circumstances that led them to greatness.

Scholars use the knowledge, skills, and abilities they have gained previously to start making an impact now as they create and implement their own projects. They develop projects based on their vision, mission, and passion.

This is a class that's all about connection. Scholars participate in group games & activities, fun, interactive learning moments, cultural dances & music, and meaningful school traditions during Culture class.

Compass is a group of scholars (15+) who embrace the opportunity to council together to read about great leaders, create projects to serve others and the school. They will work to create a culture for families and scholars at Kindred.
